Not every truck owner wants bright trim. PP59935B is a four-piece pillar post kit in anodized brushed matte black aluminum, made for Ram Crew Cab pickups whose owners prefer black trim to bright. Black instead of chrome
Most QAA pillar kits are polished stainless steel. This one is different. QAA makes it in the USA from anodized 5005 series aluminum with a brushed, matte black finish. The result is a subtle, textured look rather than a mirror shine, and it suits trucks with black wheels, black badging, or a night-edition style package. If you want the pillars to read as a clean, uniform black instead of their present finish, this kit does that.
About 5005 aluminum and anodizing
5005 is an aluminum alloy commonly chosen for anodized architectural and trim work. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that builds the black finish into the surface layer of the aluminum rather than painting it on top. The brushed texture gives the black a soft, directional grain.
Light duty and heavy duty
The fitment covers two groups of Ram trucks. The Ram 1500 Crew Cab is listed for 2019 through 2026. The Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 Crew Cab are listed for 2020 through 2026. All are 4-door pickups. Installation
Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape and installs directly over the existing pillar surface. There is no trim to remove. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle.
Wash the pillars, dry them completely, and wipe off wax and road film. A step stool helps on a tall pickup. Hold each piece in place to check its fit, then set it and press firmly along the full length so the 3M tape bonds. The Installation tab lists every step.
Care
A brushed matte finish should be cleaned gently. Wash it with the rest of the truck using ordinary car soap and a soft mitt, and avoid abrasive polishes or compounds, which can change the texture of a matte surface.
