Keyless entry stays usable

About the chrome

Install day
QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Wash the handles, wipe with degreaser, and let them dry fully. Check the system right away
As soon as the smart-key covers are on, test keyless entry at those handles. It is much easier to lift and reset a cover in the first minutes than after the tape has cured.
Either vehicle, same process
The routine is identical on a 300 or a Journey. Work around the 300 one door at a time so the pieces stay in order and each door is finished before the next begins.
Mark before you mount
Small strips of painter's tape around each cover during the dry fit give you a target for the final placement. The foam tape grabs on contact, so a reference mark turns the last step into one clean, confident press.
Weather and care
Pick a mild, dry day in the shade and keep the vehicle dry overnight. Afterward, clean the chrome with mild soap and a soft towel, and skip abrasive pads.
