Cadillac Escalade IQ and IQL 2025-2026 Charging Port Door Trim (GC65230)
Unlike most of our GC-numbered parts, which are gas door trims, GC65230 is made for a charging port door. The catalog lists it as a charging port cover trim for the Cadillac Escalade IQ and IQL, 4-door SUV, model years 2025 and 2026, on a single two-year Fitment row. The charging port door trim is a single polished piece of US-made 304 stainless at 26 gauge. Its 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape bonds it to the charging port door. It is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing charging port door to install this piece. The trim is an overlay for the face of that door, and it can't stand in for a door that is missing or damaged.
Because it covers a door that you'll open often, the condition of the paint and the fit of the door are what matter most. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle, and that depends on sound paint underneath. Look for chips along the edge, flaking or hazy clear coat, and bubbles, and repair them before you begin. The door should also close flush with the body. No drilling is involved; it installs directly over the existing surface.
Prepare the door by washing it with soapy water, rinsing, and drying it thoroughly, then wiping it with a degreaser so no wax is left. With the liner still on, hold the trim against the closed door and move it until the margin of paint visible around it is equal on all sides. Mark the position with a few strips of painter's tape. Peel the liner, align the trim with your marks, and press firmly over the entire face, then press again after a minute.
