A calm fifteen minutes. Clean the door with soap and water, dry it, and wipe it down with a degreaser. Leave the liner on and hold the trim in place, nudging it until the strip of paint around it looks the same width everywhere. Mark the position with painter's tape on the surrounding body. Remove the liner, set the trim against your marks, and press firmly across the whole face, then press once more after a short wait. Open the door slowly to confirm nothing rubs. Living with it. Polished 304 stainless stays bright and reflective, and at 26 gauge it's very thin. Let the tape cure dry overnight. Clean it with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe off fuel drips after filling.
