These are dress covers. They sit on posts by the side windows and leave the CTS's doors, glass and seals working exactly as now. 304 stainless resists corrosion through its alloy, so nothing is plated.
Each cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape onto the post's existing paint or trim. No drilling, and no trim comes off. The Installation tab gives temperatures and cure time.
The four posts must be clean and sound for a good bond. Remove wax and polish, and repair chalky, crazed or flaking paint, since the tape grips that coat. Wash with car soap, rinse and dry fully, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth, refolding until a fresh fold shows nothing. Feel for dents.
Lay out low-tack painter's tape, a soft pencil, rubbing alcohol, a bucket of car-soap water and a few lint-free cloths, with the gallery open on your phone for quick reference as you go along the car.
Keep the CTS out of direct sun and wait for a day with no wind or damp in the air. First, line up the four next to their photos and contact us if anything is bent or short. Put a numbered strip of painter's tape beside each post. Then take cover one, leave its liner on, and settle it on its post, sliding it until the reveal reads the same on all sides; mark its edges with tape. Lift it, peel the liner, bring it back to the marks and press hard along the length and down both edges. Inspect it before you move on to cover two.
If a cover lifts at one end or rocks, keep the liner on and ring 877-752-3811 rather than forcing it, and we'll talk it through. After the cure, the four wash with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
