Because grade 304 stainless resists corrosion through its own alloy, there's no plated layer on the surface that could flake or lift. Prep is mostly cleaning. Wash the four posts with car-soap water, rinse and dry. Take off any wax or polish, and fix paint that's chalky, crazed or flaking, since the tape anchors to that coat. Then degrease each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth, refolding until fresh cloth shows nothing, and feel along it for dents. Keep low-tack painter's tape and a pencil ready.
Fit on a still, dry day with the Encore parked in shade. Check the four against the gallery and report any damage before you begin. Dry-fit each with its liner on, shuffle it until the border looks even and mask round it, pencilling a number on each mask. Then one at a time, pull the liner, set the cover into its mask and smooth it down firmly from end to end and along both edges. Lift the masks once all four are on and look the set over.
If one cover won't lie flat, set it on a clean towel with its liner still on and call us on 877-752-3811 instead of forcing it. After the tape cures, wash the four with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
