What changes. Only the look of the window posts. The doors, side glass and weatherstrip work as before, and the 304 stainless resists corrosion through its alloy rather than a plated surface.
Mounting. Each of the four mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape straight over the post's existing paint or trim. No drilling, and no trim needs removing from the Ford. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and how long the tape needs to cure.
Getting the posts ready. Have painter's tape, a pencil, rubbing alcohol, car-soap water and a few lint-free cloths on hand. Strip wax and polish from the four posts, and repair any paint that's chalky, crazed or lifting, since the tape bonds to that coat. Wash, rinse and dry, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol, refolding the cloth until a clean face stays clean. Run a fingertip along each post to feel for dents.
Putting them on. Choose shade and a dry, calm day. Compare the four covers with their photos and tell us at once if any arrived damaged. Mark a number on tape at each post. Liner on, set the first cover in place, slide it until the reveal is even and outline it with painter's tape. Peel the liner, return the cover to the outline and press firmly along its length and both edges. Check it from a step back before the next.
If one won't seat. Now and then a cover tips when you press one end, or leaves a narrow gap along an edge. If that happens on your Focus, don't lean on it harder and don't trim anything. Leave its liner in place, set it to one side on a clean towel and give us a call on 877-752-3811 so we can work out what's going on. When the tape on the others has cured, a wash with car soap and water and a soft towel to dry them are all they need.
