Getting six posts ready. The tape can only grip as well as the surface allows. Remove wax and polish, and repair chalky, crazed or peeling paint first. Wash with car soap, rinse, dry thoroughly, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean fold stays clean. Look for dents as you go.
Kit. Car soap, a bucket, rubbing alcohol, a big pile of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil for labels. A helper standing back keeps all six lined up and saves you from stepping away after every one.
Fitting. A shaded driveway on a dry, breezeless day is ideal. First, set all six beside the gallery to make sure each one is present and straight; if not, get in touch before going on. Next, pencil a post name on a strip of painter's tape for every cover. Then take them one at a time: offer the cover to its post with the liner attached, centre it by eye until the border matches all round, and run painter's tape around it as a guide. Finally, peel the liner, lower the cover into the guide and press hard along its length and both edges, checking it against its photo before the next.
If a cover won't settle. Keep its liner on and phone 877-752-3811 rather than pressing harder. After the cure, wash the six with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
