Clean
Soapy wash, rinse, towel dry. Then rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth, left to flash off. Take any wax or coating off the tape area.
Sort and dry-fit
Follow the gallery when setting out the six GLE pieces. Hold each in place with its backing on. When it follows the pillar's outline, put painter's tape at both ends and note the location on the backing. If one won't sit flat, check whether it belongs on a different pillar. Each of the GLE's six covers is stainless.
Press
Peel one backing at a time, set the piece between its marks and press firmly from end to end, then along both edges. Use a step stool to see the upper ends squarely. When all six are done, step back and compare them. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and how long to wait before washing.
Light, tools, care
Work in open shade or a bright garage; glare hides small misalignments. Have a bucket, sponge, towels, rubbing alcohol, painter's tape and a marker ready. Later, wash with mild soap and a soft cloth, never steel wool.
