Look along each post for a chalky film, cracks, a lifting corner or wax and fix them. Then wash with car soap, dry fully, and wipe with rubbing alcohol on a clean lint-free cloth. Keep a step stool nearby if the upper edges are hard to see from the ground.
Fitting them. Check all eight against the photos as soon as they arrive, and call if one is damaged or missing. Lay the eight out on a towel in the order you'll fit them. Hold each in place with its backing on and outline it with painter's tape, labelling the tape in pencil. Mark every position before peeling any backing. Then fit two at a time, pressing each cover firmly along its full length and both edges, and stand back after every two to compare. A helper speeds this up.
