Product Description
Saturn Vue 2008-2009 & Chevrolet Captiva Sport Eight-Cover Pillar Post Trim, Includes Front Triangle Piece (PP48442)
PP48442 is the eight-cover pillar post set for the Saturn Vue, and its one note reads "Includes Front Triangle piece." The covers are polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, made in the USA, and the set sells for $95.49. Two fitment rows are on file, Saturn Vue 2008-2009 and Chevrolet Captiva Sport 2006-2018, each tagged 4-door, SUV.
About that note: the record names a front triangle piece but doesn't describe its shape or say where on the SUV it goes. The product photos are the best guide. If the gallery leaves you unsure where it belongs on your Vue or Captiva Sport, call us before you buy.
Check your records for make, model and year. The Vue is covered for 2008 and 2009; the Captiva Sport row runs 2006 through 2018. Given that long Captiva Sport span, a call to confirm your year is a sensible step.
PP48440 (four covers) and PP48441 (six) are the smaller linked sets, and neither carries the triangle note. No set in the group names its posts or lists widths. Laying the three galleries together shows which posts, including the triangle piece's, only this eight-piece set reaches.
Eight shapes, one of them the triangle, are worth laying out in order on a clean blanket next to the SUV. Match each to its photo and post and mark the liners lightly in pencil.
Not sure which post the triangle belongs to? Phone Quality Automotive Trims on 877-752-3811 with PP48442 and your SUV's model and year.
The covers are for looks only. They sit on the posts surrounding the side glass and leave the doors, windows and seals doing their jobs as before. 304 stainless is corrosion-resistant through the alloy, not through any plating.
No drill, no trim tools: all eight mount with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape over the Vue or Captiva Sport post's current finish. The Installation tab holds the temperature limits and cure period.
Prepare every post the same way. Strip wax, polish and sealant, and repair paint that's chalking, crazed or flaking, since the tape relies on it. Wash with car soap, rinse and dry completely. Then wipe with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth, refolding until a clean fold stays clean, and check by touch for dents.
Put out painter's tape, a pencil, rubbing alcohol, car-soap water and lots of lint-free cloths. Eight pieces go straighter with a friend calling out drift from behind you.
Wait for a dry, windless day and keep the SUV in shade. Check all eight, triangle first, against the gallery, and report any damage. Number each post on painter's tape. In order and liner on, hold a cover to its post, ease it until the gap round it is even and frame it with tape. Peel, settle it in the frame and press firmly end to end and down both edges. Check it against its photo, then go on.
If any of the eight rocks or won't lie down, set it aside unpeeled and ring 877-752-3811. After curing, the eight clean with car soap and water and a soft towel.

Installation tips: Pillar Post Trim
- Unpack all 8 pieces and match each one to its position on the vehicle, using the product photos, before fitting any of them.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Fit one piece at a time and compare each with the product photos and the pieces already in place.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
