Six posts to clean. On every post, clear wax, polish and any sealant, and fix powdery, cracked or peeling paint before you start, since that layer is what the tape holds. Wash with car soap, rinse well and let the posts dry right through. Then wipe each with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth, switching to fresh cloth until it stays white, and feel along it for dents.
Supplies and a second pair of hands. Painter's tape, a pencil for six numbered tabs, rubbing alcohol, soapy water and a generous stack of lint-free cloths. A helper standing back spots a crooked cover quickly.
Fitting. Shade, dry air, no breeze. Lay out the six beside the gallery and report anything bent or missing. Number each post. One at a time and liner on, rest a cover on its post, slide it until the margin is even and box it with tape. Peel, place it in the box and press firmly along its face and both edges. Compare it with its photo before continuing.
When a cover won't follow its post. Stop pressing, leave its liner where it is and phone 877-752-3811. Once cured, the six wash with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
