A powdery film, a pattern of fine cracks, a corner lifting or a waxy skin needs fixing before the day. Then wash with car soap, rinse, dry fully, and wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean one stays white. A step stool helps reach and see the upper ends.
Supplies. Car soap, a bucket, alcohol, a large stack of cloths, painter's tape, a pencil for labels and a towel. With eight covers, a helper to keep them in sequence and judge alignment is well worth having.
