Applying it
The bezel installs directly over the existing surface with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so you won't drill. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Inspect the paint around the plate before you begin, and repair chips or clear coat that's lifting. Remove the plate, clean off old adhesive with a plastic tool, wash, dry, and wipe with rubbing alcohol. With the liner on, hold the bezel in place and look at it from behind; once it's centered, mark it with painter's tape. Peel, place on the marks, press firmly around the frame and press again a minute later. The Installation tab lists the temperature range.
Bezel first, rocker later
An eight-piece rocker kit is a far bigger job than a single bezel. If you're considering both, fit the bezel first. It shows you how polished stainless looks against your CTS's paint, and how that paint takes the tape, before you commit to the lower body.
Plate frames
A dealer or decorative frame can overlap a bezel. If you use one, put it on during the dry fit and decide which look you want before the liner comes off.
The material
304 is a widely used chromium-nickel stainless grade for exterior trim. The thin 26-gauge sheet lets a taped part sit close to the surface, and the mirror polish is the bright finish in the photos.

Mild soap, water and a soft towel. Leave steel wool and scouring pads out of it.
