A two-piece job, done carefully
With only two pieces, the install is short, which makes it tempting to rush. Don't. Each piece is on full display beside the glass, and a slightly crooked edge is easy to see once the tape is pressed.
Start by cleaning. Sponge each pillar with soapy water, rinse and towel dry, then wipe with rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth and let it evaporate. Strip any wax, sealant or coating from where the tape will sit, and repair chipped or flaking finish first. On a car from these years, a careful look along the edges near the glass is worthwhile.
Next, the dry fit. Offer each piece to its pillar with the backing on and compare it with the photos. When the outline follows the pillar's edges, put a short strip of painter's tape at each end on the car. If the photos show the two pieces as a matching pair, measure from the same fixed reference point on the body to the end of each piece; the two numbers should agree.
Finally, peel one backing, set the piece between its marks, and press firmly along the full length, finishing with a fingertip down each edge. Repeat with the second piece and check both from a few steps back. A mild, dry day within the Installation tab's range suits the tape; wait the listed cure time before washing.
Light and tools
Work in open shade or a well-lit garage; glare off glass and polished steel hides small differences. You'll need a sponge and bucket, microfiber towels, rubbing alcohol, painter's tape, a tape measure and the photos on a phone.
