The covers are cosmetic panels for the posts between the side windows. They don't alter the doors, glass or seals in any way. The 304 grade holds off corrosion on its own, with no plated layer, so the steel you see is the steel all the way through.
A layer of 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape on each cover holds it to the post's existing finish. The Acura needs no drilling and keeps every piece of its trim. Look at the Installation tab for the temperature range and the cure time.
Because the tape sticks to that finish rather than to anything underneath, check all four posts with care. If your fingertip comes away chalky, if you can see fine cracking, if a corner is starting to rise, or if there's a coat of wax, deal with it first. Then wash with car soap, rinse, dry completely and wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until one comes back white.
Lay out car soap, a bucket, alcohol, cloths, painter's tape and a pencil. Someone standing back from the TL makes it far easier to see whether each cover lines up.
On a still, dry day, park in shade and open the box. Hold each cover beside its gallery photo and call us if one is bent or missing. Lay the TL covers out in the gallery's order. Keeping the liner on, set a cover on its post, adjust it until the margin looks even all the way round, and box it in with painter's tape. Peel the liner, drop the cover into its box, and press hard along the length and down both edges. Do the next cover straight after so you can compare while everything's fresh.
