Product Description
Mercedes Metris Cargo Van 2016-2020 Pillar Post Trim, Four Pieces (PP16995)
PP16995 is a four-piece stainless pillar post set listed for the Mercedes Metris, model years 2016 through 2020. The fitment row is tagged 4-door and Cargo Van. It's the only Metris part on this sheet, with no sibling sets, so the page is about one thing: making sure it suits your van and getting it on cleanly.
Cargo Van tag
The row names the Cargo Van body. No other Metris body is listed for this set. If your Metris is configured differently, or you're unsure how it's registered, call Quality Automotive Trims at 877-752-3811 with PP16995 before ordering. Have the model year ready; your records show it.
A price to confirm
This set is listed at $122.99, and the listing gives no detail that explains the figure for a four-piece set. It may well be correct, but we've flagged it for review, and it's worth a quick call to confirm the price and the contents before you buy.
What the listing says
Four covers in 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, polished, made in the USA. Mounting is 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape directly over the existing surface, so no drilling and no panels removed. There are no notes, no width and no list of which pillars the four covers dress. The product photos are the guide to their shapes; compare them with your van's pillars before ordering, and ask if an outline doesn't obviously match.
About polished stainless
The finish is polished steel rather than plating, so there's no surface coat to flake. At 26 gauge the sheet is thin and light, which lets each cover lie close against the panel it's bonded to.
Planning the job
Choose a dry, mild day and a shaded place to work. The Installation tab lists the temperature range and cure time; keep the van dry for that period afterwards. A step ladder or sturdy stool helps you see the upper ends of each cover square on, and a helper can judge the line from a few steps back.
What pillar covers are
Pillars are the upright panels that frame the side glass. A pillar cover is a thin stainless piece shaped to sit on the face of one, bonded on top so the panel underneath stays exactly as it was.
Cleaning
Wash the pillar areas with car shampoo, rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe each spot with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth and let it evaporate. Remove any wax, sealant or coating where tape will sit, because it stops the bond from forming.
Fitting the four
Count the covers and match them to the photos. Find each one in the photos. Hold each one up with its liner on, check that the edges follow the pillar, and mark its position with painter's tape. Peel one liner at a time, align the cover with the marks, and press firmly along its whole length and both edges. Fit the next cover and compare the two.
If a cover won't lie flat, or the shapes don't seem to match your van, keep the liners on and call 877-752-3811.

Installation tips: Pillar Post Trim
- Unpack all 4 pieces and match each one to its position on the vehicle, using the product photos, before fitting any of them.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Fit one piece at a time and compare each with the product photos and the pieces already in place.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
