The six are decorative pieces. Each rests on a post next to the side glass, and the sedan's doors, windows and weatherstrip keep working as before. Type 304 stainless keeps corrosion away by its chemistry; there's no plating involved.
Each cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape that bonds to the posts' present paint or trim. Nothing gets drilled and no Cadillac trim is removed. Look up the temperature range and cure time on the Installation tab before setting a date.
Six posts need checking, because each is what its tape holds on to. Look for a chalky bloom, a fine web of cracks, a lifting corner, or wax and polish left from earlier care, and correct whatever you find. Wash with car soap, rinse well, let everything dry, and finish each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a new cloth picks up nothing.
