What the covers do. They're styling trim for the posts beside the side glass. The doors, windows and weatherstrip aren't affected, and the sedan is used exactly as before. Corrosion resistance is built into the 304 stainless rather than coming from a plated finish.
Attachment. Each cover bonds with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape to the paint or trim the post already has. No holes, no removed trim. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and cure time.
Six posts to prep. Take off all wax and polish, and repair chalking, cracking or peeling paint so the tape has a sound surface. Wash with car soap, rinse, let it all dry, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a fresh fold shows no residue. Keep an eye out for dents, which polished steel will reveal.
Kit list: car soap, a bucket, rubbing alcohol, a generous pile of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil for labels. Ask a helper to judge each alignment from a short distance.
Fitting. Choose shade and dry, windless weather. Lay the six beside the gallery and call us about any damage or shortage. Write each cover's post on a strip of painter's tape, using its photo. Liner on, hold the cover to that post, ease it until the gap is even and tape its outline. Peel, seat it in the outline and press firmly along the full length and both edges. Check before the next.
If one lifts. A Stratus cover that rocks on its post or stands up at one tip isn't one to lean on harder. Leave its liner in place and call 877-752-3811 so we can work out what's going on. When the tape has had its full cure time, the six are washed with ordinary car soap and water and dried with a soft towel.
