Six polished stainless pillar covers make up PP45491, priced at $89.99 and made in the USA from 26 gauge 304 stainless. Role. The covers dress the posts beside the side glass and leave doors, windows and seals as they were. Type 304 stainless resists corrosion by its composition; no plating.
Mounting. 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape bonds each cover to the post's existing finish. No holes, and no trim comes off the Ford or Mercury. See the Installation tab for the temperature range and cure time.
Preparing six posts. Remove wax and polish, and repair chalky, crazed or peeling paint, since the tape bonds to that top layer. Wash with car soap, rinse, dry completely, and wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean fold shows nothing. Look out for dents.
Gear. Car-soap water in a bucket, rubbing alcohol, a big stack of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil to label each cover by post. With six to place, a helper's eye from a few paces saves time.
Fitting. Shade, dry air, still weather. Lay the six beside the gallery and contact us about any damage or shortage. Label each with painter's tape. Liner on, hold a cover to its post and slide it until the reveal is even, then tape the outline. Peel, place it in the outline and press firmly along its full length and both edges. Compare with the photo before the next.
If one won't seat. Any of the six that rocks, bridges or lifts at a tip is best left on its liner while you talk to us on 877-752-3811. Once the tape has had its full cure, the covers on your Five Hundred, Taurus, Montego or Sable need only car-soap washing and a soft towel.
