Product Description
Ford Five Hundred, Taurus, Mercury Montego & Sable Stainless Fender Trim, 1.75" – WZ45490
WZ45490 is a four-piece Wheel Well Fender Trim set at 1.75" for four related sedans: the Ford Five Hundred 2005-2007, Ford Taurus 2008-2009, Mercury Montego 2005-2007 and Mercury Sable 2008-2009. The fitment entry reads 4-door, Sedan.
Four names, two year ranges
The Five Hundred and Montego are listed for 2005-2007; the Taurus and Sable for 2008-2009. Match your car's badge to its range before ordering. The title names all four with those years, as the fitment does.
The metal
Molded and imported, the stainless steel is graded high quality on the record. QAA says the pieces are cut to perfection & polished to a mirror shine.
Clip on or screw in
Both fastening types come with the set. The record doesn't favour either, so pick one and use it on all four openings.
Linked accents
TH45490 is a four-piece rocker trim at 4.375", installed below the door. PP45490 and PP45491 are pillar post sets with four and six pieces, both noted as including the keyless entry touch pad. GC45490 is a gas door cover, LB45490 a license bar above the plate, and RI45490 a two-piece roof insert trim.
Measuring
Measure beside each wheel opening against 1.75", and compare each opening with the photos. The record doesn't place pieces on particular openings.
Before ordering
Confirm badge and year, then width and photos. Call 877-752-3811 with SKU WZ45490 and the UPC if anything doesn't match.
Planning
Pick a dry day and leave time to clean all four openings first. Lay the pieces next to the car in photo order, with the hardware in one container.
Cleaning
Wash the area round each opening, rinse and dry. Clear tar and old wax with wax-and-grease remover.
Fitting
Hold each piece in place unfastened and compare it with its photo, then fasten it from one end to the other.
Order of work
Front openings first, one at a time. If any opening looks different from its photo, leave that piece off and phone.
Delivery
Check the carton for four pieces and both kinds of hardware before starting.
Afterwards
Look the car over from several paces away. If a piece won't sit evenly, ring QAA. Recheck the fasteners after a week.
Questions
Give QAA the badge, year and SKU; they can confirm the fit for any of the four models.
Care
A soft mitt and mild soap.
Choosing clips or screws
If you can't decide, describe your wheel openings to QAA. Whichever you pick, use it on all four pieces.
Before the first piece
With the openings clean and dry, compare each piece with its photo one more time before fastening. If it doesn't match, leave it off and call.
Pillar posts
Both linked pillar sets include the keyless entry touch pad. If your car has no touch pad, ask QAA before ordering one.
Spares
Store unused fasteners in the trunk.
Wash the car gently during the first week.
