Preparation. Clean, sound posts are what make the tape work. Strip wax and polish; repair chalky, crazed or peeling paint. Wash with car soap, rinse, let dry fully, then wipe every post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean section picks up nothing. Look for dents as you work.
Supplies. A bucket with car soap, rubbing alcohol, a generous stack of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil for labelling. With six covers, a helper who can watch from a few paces off is well worth asking.
Fitting. Pick shade and a calm, dry day. Lay out the six alongside the gallery and get in touch about any damage or missing piece. Write each cover's post on painter's tape from its photo. Then, one at a time: liner on, hold it to the post, centre it until the reveal is even, tape its outline, peel, set it in the outline and press firmly along the length and both edges. Compare it with its photo before the next.
If a cover won't seat. Sometimes a cover stays a fraction high at one end or rocks across its post. Rather than pressing it down, leave the liner where it is and give us a ring on 877-752-3811 to talk it through. When the STS's tape has fully cured, its six covers come clean with car soap and water and a soft towel.
