Prep. Before any liner comes off, gather low-tack painter's tape, a pencil, rubbing alcohol, car-soap water and a stack of lint-free cloths. On all six posts, remove wax, sealant and polish, and repair paint that's powdery, cracked or peeling. Wash, rinse and dry. Then wipe each with rubbing alcohol until a fresh fold of cloth comes away clean, and feel along for dents.
Fitting. First, pick a shady, calm, dry day and check the six against the gallery, reporting any damage at once. Second, number each post on tape for its cover. Third, liner on, hold one cover up, move it until the margin is even and trace round it. Fourth, peel, set it in the tracing and press hard end to end and down both edges. Step back to check the margin and both edges before going on to the next cover.
