Mount
The Cruze hatchback accent attaches to the existing surface by way of 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. Per QAA, the tape will hold for a lifetime without harming the Chevrolet.
Hatch prep
Wash, dry, and wipe the footprint with a residue-free cleaner until a clean cloth picks up nothing. Old wax and road film are the usual reasons foam tape lets go, so take your time. Repair any chipped or lifting paint before you mount the strip.
Line and press
Liner on, set the strip by the photos, measure from each end to the hatch edges, and mark with painter's tape. Step back and look from directly behind before peeling. On a dry, mild day, peel and press from the center out with firm, even pressure. The Installation tab covers every step.
Care
Wait a few days to wash; mild soap and a soft cloth after. Skip rubbing compounds on the polish.
What it is
Decorative trim; not a factory replacement. The hatch opens and closes as before.
Why stainless
With no plating on the Cruze piece, a light scuff shows the same 304 steel underneath.
