Sill prep on an older Highlander
Check the sills carefully before fitting. Wind the windows up. Wash each sill with a wrung-out shampoo cloth, wipe clean with plain water and dry. In good light, look for wax build-up, old polish residue, leftover adhesive from earlier accessories and any flaking finish. Residue comes off with a plastic scraper and wax-and-grease remover. Fitting
Sort the four pieces by door from the photos. Tape the first on with its liner attached and look at both ends. Then peel the liner a few inches at the rear end, press, and carry on toward the front, pressing firmly as the liner comes away. Repeat on the other front door, then the remaining two.
Keep water off the Highlander for a day. After that, clean the trim with mild soap and a soft cloth.
