Construction
Every Charger piece is polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, produced in the USA, and goes over the existing window trim with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. According to QAA, the tape will hold for a lifetime without harming the paint.
Laying out ten
Separate the upper pieces from the pillar pieces, then order both groups by door. Hold each door's pieces against the Charger with the photos beside you, and write the position on each liner. Count all ten and call if anything is short.
Preparation
Remove any old adhesive, wax or flaking paint from the frame tops and pillars. Wash and dry the sedan. As each strip comes up, clean it with a wax-and-grease remover and then isopropyl alcohol.
Fitting
- Upper piece first on each door.
- Pillar pieces next, lined up against the upper piece.
- Dry-fit every piece with its liner on and painter's tape at the ends, and close the door gently to check it clears.
- Lift about an inch of liner on a Charger piece, set that end on its mark, then keep peeling and pressing toward the far end.
Look along the side of the car after each door, and adjust before moving on if the line isn't even.
