Six upper pieces in 304
The six Avalon upper pieces are cut in the USA from polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel and set over the existing surface of the frame tops with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. QAA says that tape will hold for a lifetime without harming the Toyota.
Check the tops
Look along each window top of the sedan for adhesive residue, wax build-up or chipped paint, and deal with any of it before cleaning.
Cleaning
Wash and dry the Avalon. Wipe each frame top with a wax-and-grease remover, then isopropyl alcohol, right before its piece goes on.
Fitting the six
Start at a front door. Hold the piece along its frame with the liner on, stick painter's tape at each end, and close the door gently to check it clears. Then lift an inch of liner, press that end down and work along the frame. Finish that run of windows, look along it from the front and the back, then carry on the same way around the car.
Care
A day without washing lets the tape settle. Mild soap and a soft cloth are enough afterwards. If any piece doesn't follow its frame as the photos show, call 877-752-3811 before bonding it.
Matching the six
Before cleaning, hold each piece along a window top of the 2005-2011 Avalon and compare it with the photos. Once a piece's window is clear, write it on the liner so nothing is swapped when you start fitting.
