Test before you walk away
Once the smart-key covers are pressed on, try the keyless entry at each of those handles. If a sensor does not respond, you will want to know while the tape is fresh, not days later. A quick check now saves a headache.
Molded chrome
Each cover is ABS plastic, a stiff material that molds to the curves of a handle, then plated in chrome and polished. The factory handles keep working underneath.
Install routine
For the Edge and Explorer covers, QAA says the tape holds for a lifetime and causes no damage to the vehicle's surface.
- Wash each handle and degrease it.
- Give everything time to dry completely.
- Dry-fit by hand, checking any opening against its sensor.
- Press along every edge for several seconds once each is placed.

Confirm three things. First, your SUV is an Edge from 2011 to 2014 or an Explorer from 2011 to 2019. Second, its handles have keyless-entry touch points, since that is what the two openings are for. Third, you are comfortable covering the passenger lock, because this kit has no opening there. Weather window
Aim for a mild, dry day out of direct sun, and keep the SUV dry overnight. Freshly waxed Edge paint needs degreasing twice so the tape grips evenly.
