Product Description
Chevrolet Colorado 2004-2012 Pickup Stainless Gas Cap Door Trim (GC44150)
Nine model years of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup, from 2004 through 2012, are covered by this one fuel door accent, and the fitment row includes both 2-door and 4-door trucks. GC44150 is one piece of polished 304 stainless steel, 26 gauge thick, made in the USA. Mounting on the Colorado is by 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape.
Read this before ordering: GC44150 is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door to install this piece. The stainless goes over your truck's current door. If that door is cracked or missing, replace it first.
One gas door, two window sill kits
The gas door trim doesn't care which cab you have, but the two cross-listed window sill sets do. WS44153 is a two-piece set for the 2-door Colorado, and WS44150 is a four-piece set for the 4-door. The catalog ties each kit to a door count, and the piece counts differ to match. If sill trim comes later, choose the kit for your Colorado's door count; either pairs with this accent.
No other parts are cross-listed on this sheet. If you're after rocker, pillar or handle trim for the Colorado, call and we'll check what's available.
Mounting it
The trim installs directly over the existing surface; no drilling is needed. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. The tape is only as reliable as the paint it sticks to, so check the door face carefully. Look for flaking or chalky clear coat, chips around the edges, and bubbles, and repair those first. Make sure the door also latches and sits flush with the body.
Begin by washing the door with soap and water. Rinse, dry, and finish with a degreaser wipe until your cloth stays clean. Leaving the liner in place, rest the trim on the closed door and slide it until the paint showing around its edge looks equal on every side. A couple of pieces of painter's tape on the surrounding panel will hold that position for you. Now peel the liner, line the trim up to the tape, and press it down firmly over its entire face. Wait a minute and press again. Finally, open the door slowly to confirm it swings without rubbing. See the Installation tab for more detail.
About the finish
The polished 304 stainless has a bright, reflective surface. At 26 gauge the overlay sits close to the door, so it looks like part of the panel rather than a thick separate layer.
Timing and care
Choose a mild, dry day, ideally in a garage, and let the tape set overnight before the truck gets wet. Care is gentle soap and a soft cloth, plus a quick wipe if fuel splashes on it at the pump.

Installation tips: Gas Door Cover Trim
- Confirm your vehicle still has its original gas door. This trim mounts over it and does not replace it.
- Unpack the piece and hold it in position to confirm the fit before mounting it.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Step back and check alignment before pressing along the full length of the piece.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
