The fuel door comes first
Open and close the door to confirm it latches and sits flush. Look at the paint on its face. If it's solid, you're ready to clean.
Cleaning
Soapy water, a rinse, and a wipe with degreaser. Focus on the edges, where wax and grime build up. Let the surface dry completely.
Fitting
Close the door. Lay the trim on it with the liner still in place and check that the border looks even all the way around. Mark a reference spot on the body with painter's tape. Peel the liner, align, and press firmly from the middle out to every edge. Press again a minute later. Open and close the door gently to be sure it clears. Full prep is in the Installation tab.
