Steel and tape for the Sonata
The fourteen Sonata pieces, polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel cut in the USA, fit over the existing surface of the window tops and pillars and are held with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. QAA states it will hold for a lifetime without harming the Hyundai.
Two groups to separate
Sort the box into upper trim and pillar pieces, then work out each piece's door from the photos. Hold each piece next to the sedan's windows and compare it with the photos; once a piece's place is clear, pencil it on the liner.
Preparing the surfaces
Wash the car and let it dry completely. Then, one door at a time, clean the frame tops and pillars with a wax-and-grease remover and finish with an isopropyl alcohol wipe right before each piece goes on. The sills aren't part of this package, so leave them as they are.
Fitting the Sonata set
For each door, place the upper trim first and then the pillar pieces, lining the pillars up with the top edge. Dry fit with liners attached, mark both ends with painter's tape, and open and shut the door to check clearance. Bond by peeling a short length of liner, setting that end and pressing along as you go.
After installation
Wait a day before washing the Sonata. Clean the trim with mild soap and a soft cloth, and avoid abrasive pads. If a pillar piece and the upper trim don't meet as shown in the photos, stop and call 877-752-3811 before bonding the rest.
