Product Description
Polished Fuel Door Accent for the 2012-2015 Honda Civic Sedan (GC12214)
The fuel door on a Civic sedan is a plain painted panel that most owners never think about. GC12214 changes that with one piece of mirror-polished 304 stainless steel shaped to sit on the outer face of the door. It's listed for the Honda Civic 4-door sedan from 2012 through 2015, it's made in the USA, and it mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape.
Read this before you buy
This is not a replacement cap, and it is not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door on the car to install this piece. If the fuel door is missing or loose, sort that out first.
Which Civic it fits
One fitment row: Honda Civic, 2012-2015, 4-door sedan. The coupe isn't on this listing. The catalog splits Civic trim by body style elsewhere too: PP12212, a two-piece pillar set, is for the 2-door coupe. The Fitment tab shows the exact row for GC12214.
What 26 gauge stainless means here
Gauge is a thickness number, and 26 gauge is thin sheet. That's what you want on a door that has to swing open and close against the body: a thin overlay keeps the profile low. It installs directly over the existing surface, so there's no drilling and nothing to take apart. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle.
Building out the sedan
The Civic sedan has a wide spread of matching listings, and the pillar trim is where the choices get specific:
- PP12214: four pieces, noted as having a crease on the side of the pillar.
- PP12215: six pieces.
- PP12216: eight pieces.
QAA doesn't say what the additional pieces in the larger Civic sets cover, so each page's photos are the best guide. Up front, HL12214 is a two-piece headlight accent that adheres to the front bumper underneath the headlight. Around back, RB12214 is a one-piece rear bumper accent and LP12214 is a license plate bezel. RD12214, TH12214, TH12215, WP12214, WP12215, WP12216, WQ12214 and WS12214 also show up on this sheet; their details are on their own pages.
Getting it on straight
First hold the trim on the closed door and look at the gap around its edge from a couple of steps back. When it looks even, put a small strip of painter's tape on the body as a reference. Clean the door face with soapy water, rinse, wipe with degreaser, and let it dry fully. Peel the liner, line up with your mark, and press hard across the whole face. Open and close the door slowly a few times to make sure nothing rubs. The Installation tab has the full steps.
Living with it
Give the tape a day to settle before soaking the area. After that, ordinary washing with mild soap and a soft cloth keeps the polish bright. Wipe off any fuel drips at the pump.

Installation tips: Gas Door Cover Trim
- Confirm your vehicle still has its original gas door. This trim mounts over it and does not replace it.
- Unpack the piece and hold it in position to confirm the fit before mounting it.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Step back and check alignment before pressing along the full length of the piece.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
