GC53235 is the fuel door accent listed for the 2013-2018 Cadillac ATS 4-door sedan, six model years on a single Fitment row. There's no drilling involved: GC53235 installs directly over the existing surface. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Because adhesive depends on the paint, inspect the gas door before you begin. Fading, cloudy or peeling clear coat, chipped edges and bubbles should be repaired first, and the door should close flush.
For the install, clean the door with soap and water, rinse, dry, and wipe with degreaser until the cloth is clean. With the liner still covering the tape, set the trim on the closed door and adjust it until the visible paint around it is even on all sides; a second person looking from a step back can help. Mark the spot with painter's tape. Peel the liner, bring the trim to your marks, and press it firmly across the whole face, then press again after a minute. The finish is polished 304 stainless, bright and reflective, and the 26 gauge sheet keeps it slim. Install on a mild, dry day and give it overnight before rain or washing. Clean with gentle soap and a soft cloth, and wipe off fuel drips.
