Check the door first
Open and close the fuel door. It should move freely and close flush. Look at the paint on its face; if anything is chipped or peeling, fix it first, since the tape bonds to that surface.
Installing
Wash the face, rinse, wipe with degreaser, and let it dry. Hold the trim on the closed door with the liner on, and move it until the margin looks the same on every side. Step back and look again. Mark the position on the body with painter's tape. Peel, align, and press firmly across the whole surface, then once more after a minute. Open and close the door gently to confirm clearance. A good first install
Several Pilot pieces above are multi-part kits. The gas door trim is one flat piece with nothing to pair, so it's an easy place to learn how the peel-and-press process feels. If you like the result, the pillar sets and rocker kit are the natural next step.
Conditions
A mild, dry day is ideal. Keep the door dry overnight afterward.

Wash with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe off any fuel drips.
