If your molding-to-door-bottom distance is close to 5.625", the band will look nearly full-height; if it's much more, a wider painted area shows below.
Cleaning
Wash, rinse, dry. Then isopropyl alcohol over the band until the cloth comes away clean. Fix chips first.
Installing
Dry-fit each piece against the guide. Peel a little liner, tuck the top edge against the molding, and press as you go. Keep the bottom edge on the tape line.
Molding
Press along the molding before you start and reattach loose sections; the steel copies its line. A molding that has pulled away at one end will tilt the whole stripe, which is far easier to fix now than after the tape is down.

Soap, isopropyl alcohol, lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a marker, a tape measure, and a plastic trim tool. A second person helps keep longer pieces straight while you seat them.
Conditions
A dry, mild day in the shade. Tape seats best when the steel and paint are both at room temperature.
