The mounting

Before peeling anything

Prep and guide line
Wash, dry, and wipe the band with isopropyl alcohol. Run painter's tape 5.625" below the molding as a guide for the lower edge.
Application
Peel a few inches, set the top under the molding, press, and continue along the piece with the bottom edge on the guide. When the piece is fully down, go over it again with firm palm pressure, especially at both ends.
Paint condition
Trucks from these years have often seen hard use. Look along each lower door for chips, rust blisters or dents within the band; repair them and let the paint cure before the steel goes on. Tape can only hold to a sound surface.
Ram joint positions
Measure where each piece starts and ends and keep the rest consistent. Then walk around the truck and look along it from the corners.
