Fitting the covers
- Pick a dry, still day and work in the shade.
- Gather mild car soap, a sponge, isopropyl alcohol, plenty of lint-free cloths and painter's tape.

- Wash, rinse and dry the pillar faces.
- Wipe each face with alcohol, switching to fresh cloths until one comes away clean, and let it evaporate.

- Hold each in place with its liner on and outline it with painter's tape when the edges sit right.
- Peel one liner, set the cover in its outline and press firmly along the length and edges.
- Then seat the next cover and look the two over together.
