The covers are decorative and sit over posts near the side windows. Doors, glass and seals are left exactly as they work now. Grade 304 resists corrosion by its makeup, so there's no plating on these.
The four each mount with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape straight onto the existing paint or trim of the post. Nothing is drilled into the body and no trim is removed. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and how long to let the tape cure.
A sound bond needs a sound surface. Take off wax and polish, and fix flaking, chalky or crazed paint, because the tape only holds as well as that coat. Wash with car soap, rinse, let it dry completely, and then wipe each of the four posts with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth until fresh cloth shows nothing. Check for dents along the way.
You'll need painter's tape, a pencil for numbering, rubbing alcohol, lint-free cloths and soapy water. A step stool helps you see the top end of each post square on.
Work in shade on a calm, dry day. Check all four against the photos and get in touch about anything damaged. Number each post on painter's tape. One at a time and with the liner on, set a cover in place, adjust until the edges sit evenly, and tape a frame round it. Peel, return it to the frame and press firmly along its whole face and both edges. Check it, then do the next.
