Before installing on a car of this age
A Legacy from these years has had time to collect layers of wax, glass-cleaner residue and road film around the windows, and its finish may have small chips. Each of those can weaken a tape bond. So clean in stages: soapy water, a rinse and a full dry, then rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth, letting it evaporate. Look over each pillar afterward and repair anything flaking or lifting before stainless covers it.
Placing the pieces
Keep the photos open. Hold each piece against its pillar with the liner on, compare the outline, and write the position on the liner once it matches. Then, piece by piece, peel the liner, line it up with the pillar edges, and press firmly along the length. Run a fingertip down each edge. After all four are on, walk around the car and look them over. Work on a dry day inside the temperature range from the Installation tab, preferably out of direct sun, and allow the listed cure time before the first wash. Stainless steel is used for each of the Legacy's four covers.
If a piece doesn't seem to fit
Stop before you peel anything. Try the piece on a different pillar, since similar pieces are easy to swap. Compare it once more with the photos. If it still doesn't match, take a photo of the piece held against the pillar and call us; we'll sort it out with you.
Keeping it looking right
Wash the stainless with mild soap and water and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid steel wool, abrasive pads and gritty compounds. If glass cleaner lands on the trim when you do the windows, wipe it off.
