What the covers do is simple: they brighten the posts next to the side windows. They play no part in how the doors close, the glass moves or the seals work, and because the steel is grade 304, its resistance to corrosion is built into the metal rather than plated on.
There's no drilling and no trim removal. Each cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape over the post's existing paint or trim, and the Installation tab lists the temperature range and the cure time you'll need to allow.
Gather low-tack painter's tape, a pencil, rubbing alcohol, a bucket of car-soap water and a few lint-free cloths, then turn to the posts. Each needs every trace of wax and polish removed and any chalky, crazed or flaking paint repaired, since that coat is what the tape bonds to. Wash, rinse and dry the four, wipe each with rubbing alcohol on a clean fold of cloth until it shows nothing, and run a finger along for dents.
Work out of the sun on a dry day with no wind. First, compare the four covers with their photos and contact us about anything damaged. Second, decide which post each belongs on and number the posts with tabs of painter's tape. Third, with its liner still on, rest the first cover on its post, slide it until the reveal is even and tape its outline.
Fourth, peel the liner, lower the cover into its outline and press firmly from one end to the other and along both edges. Look it over against its photo, then repeat for the other three in turn, working the same direction round the car.
