Product Description
Chevrolet Sonic 2012-2020 Pillar Post Trim, Four Covers (PP53120)
PP53120 is the four-cover pillar post set for the Chevrolet Sonic, at $56.99. The covers are polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, made in the USA. The fitment record has one row, Chevrolet Sonic 2012-2020, and that row carries three tags: 4-door, Sedan, Hatchback. It spans nine model years.
The tags are worth a closer look. This four-cover set is tagged for both the sedan and the hatchback, but the only linked set, PP53121 with six covers, is tagged 4-door, Sedan alone. We're quoting the record exactly as it stands. If you have a Sonic hatchback and are thinking about the six-cover set, call us first rather than assuming either way. No other trim is linked to this record.
Neither pillar set names its posts or lists widths, so the record can't describe in words what the two further covers in PP53121 would reach. The galleries can. Open both, compare them with your own Sonic, and decide which count you're after.
Check the year; a Sonic outside 2012 to 2020 isn't covered by this row. Quality Automotive Trims takes calls on 877-752-3811. Tell us PP53120, your year and whether you drive the sedan or the hatchback, and we'll check the record with you.
These covers are about looks. They sit over the posts beside the side glass and leave the doors, windows and weatherstrip working as before. Grade 304 stainless resists corrosion through its own alloy, so there's no plating to chip or flake.
Fitting them on the Sonic involves no drill at all. Every cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, pressed onto the paint or trim each post already has, and nothing has to be lifted, unscrewed or unclipped from the car first. The tape does have conditions it likes, though, so look at the Installation tab for its temperature range and cure time before you settle on a day for the job.
Start with the posts. Gather low-tack painter's tape, a pencil, rubbing alcohol, a bucket of car-soap water and several lint-free cloths. Strip wax and polish from the four posts. Where the paint is chalky, crazed or flaking, repair it first, because the tape bonds to that coat. Wash, rinse and dry, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol, turning the cloth to a clean face until it stays clean, and feel along each one for dents.
Work in shade on a dry, windless day. Unpack the four, compare them with their photos and let us know straight away about any damage. Number each post on a strip of tape. With the liner on, hold the first cover in position, ease it until the reveal is even and outline it with painter's tape. Peel the liner, set the cover back in the outline and press firmly along its length and both edges. Check it from a step back before starting the next.
A Sonic cover that tips or won't lie flat should keep its liner while you ring 877-752-3811. Once the tape has cured, wash the four with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.

Installation tips: Pillar Post Trim
- Unpack all 4 pieces and match each one to its position on the vehicle, using the product photos, before fitting any of them.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Fit one piece at a time and compare each with the product photos and the pieces already in place.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
