Attachment. 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape bonds each cover to the existing post finish. The Maxx isn't drilled and keeps its trim. Temperature range and cure time are on the Installation tab.
Post prep. Six posts all need the same attention. Strip wax and polish, and repair chalking, crazing or peeling paint, since that's what the tape will hold. Wash with car soap, rinse, dry completely, and wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a fresh fold picks up nothing. Check for dents as you go, because polished steel makes them stand out, and it's easier to fix a post before a cover sits on it.
Supplies. Car soap and a bucket, rubbing alcohol, plenty of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil for labels. A helper standing back from the Maxx speeds up the six alignments and keeps the spacing even.
Fitting. Shade, dry weather, no breeze. Lay out the six by the gallery and call us about any damage or missing piece. Label each on painter's tape for the post its photo shows. Liner on, hold a cover to its post, ease it until the gap is even and tape round it. Peel, seat it in the outline and press firmly along its length and both edges. Check against the photo before the next.
If one lifts. Leave the liner on and phone 877-752-3811 before pressing further. Once cured, wash the six with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
