Every cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, directly over the existing surface. There's no drilling. The Installation tab gives the tape's temperature range and cure time.
The posts need more attention than the covers. With eight positions, it's easy to rush one and have that cover lift later. Go round methodically. Wherever the finish is chalky, crazed, lifting or waxed, fix it. Then wash, dry completely, and wipe with rubbing alcohol on a clean lint-free cloth. Have a step stool ready if the upper edges are hard to see from the ground.
When the posts are ready, lay the eight covers out on a clean towel in the order you plan to fit them. Write a small label on a strip of painter's tape for each. Then hold each cover in place with its backing on and outline it, marking every position before you peel anything. Fit two at a time, pressing firmly along each cover's length and edges, and stand back after every two to make sure they agree.
