Prepping the Outback
Give the pillar areas a wash with car soap and rinse well. Dry with a microfibre towel and let any water in seams evaporate. Wipe each spot with isopropyl alcohol on a fresh cloth. Remove any wax, sealant or ceramic coating where tape will go, because those stop the bond forming properly.
Placing the eight
Spread them out and match them to the photos. Keep each liner on while you test-fit, sight down both edges, and mark the position with painter's tape. Writing the spot on each liner in pencil keeps eight pieces from getting shuffled. Once the layout is right, peel and press one at a time, using firm thumb pressure over the length and both edges.
