Rocker, not door

On the tape

Measure the flat area on the rocker under the doors and compare it with 1.25". The strip needs a smooth surface across its full width, so avoid seams and textured areas.
Cleaning a low surface
The rocker takes a steady beating from spray, salt and small stones. Wash it with a soft brush and soapy water, rinse, dry and wipe the full length with isopropyl alcohol. Touch up chips first.
Keeping it straight
A long strip shows any wander. Run painter's tape along the rocker as a guide line, then hold the trim against it with the liner on and sight down its length from the front of the car.
Applying
Peel a few inches of liner at one end, anchor it on your guide, then peel the rest as you press along the length. Go back over the whole strip with firm pressure. Fit the remaining strip, placing it as the photos show.
The first day
Avoid washing for a day and keep the car out of deep puddles if you can, so water doesn't sit along a fresh edge.
