Material

Surface prep without a gasket
With no rubber edge, the stainless lies flush on the paint and every flaw underneath would show along it. Wash and fully dry each opening. Then work your fingertips along the narrow band to find any bump: dried wax, an old adhesive line, a raised chip. Remove it. Wax-and-grease remover next; isopropyl alcohol right before fitting. A strip of painter's tape just outside the band gives you a line to follow.
Fitting
Offer the piece up on its liner, hold it with two small tape tabs, and check that it keeps an even distance from the opening from end to end. Start at the lower front end, peeling a short length and pressing with a fingertip, then work up and around. Take the guide tape off once the piece is down. Repeat at the next opening.
Care
