All twelve Sonata pieces are polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel from a USA shop, bonded over the existing surface with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime and won't mark the Hyundai sedan.
Readying the 2006-2010 Sonata
Walk around the car and look at each frame top and pillar. Old adhesive, wax build-up and loose paint all weaken the bond, so remove them. After a wash and full dry, prepare each strip with a wax-and-grease remover and an isopropyl alcohol wipe immediately before its piece is fitted.
Fitting the two groups
Each door starts with its upper piece; the pillar pieces are then lined up against that top edge. Hold every piece in place with the liner untouched and mark both ends with painter's tape. Close the door gently. If nothing rubs, peel back the first section of liner, press that end down, and keep peeling and pressing to the far end.
Looking after the trim
Give the tape a day before washing. Then a soft cloth with mild soap is all the stainless needs. If a piece won't follow the Sonata the way the photos show, keep it unbonded and ring 877-752-3811.
Separate pillar sets
If PP26360 or PP26361 is already in your garage, keep it boxed while you fit this package so its pieces aren't confused with these.
