All twenty RX330, RX350 and RX400h pieces come from polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel cut in the USA and attach over the existing surface with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. Per QAA, the tape will hold for a lifetime with no harm to the Lexus.
Getting organized
Whichever of the three RX models you're fitting, begin by separating the upper trim, pillar posts and sills. Within each group, order the pieces by door as the photos show. Walk each door's pieces out to the SUV, hold them against the windows with the photos open, and write each position on its liner.
Preparing the RX
- Clear any old adhesive or wax from the frames, pillars and sills
- Wash and fully dry the SUV
- Just before each piece, wipe its strip with a wax-and-grease remover, then isopropyl alcohol
Installing
Take the doors one at a time and work downward: the upper piece, the pillars lined up beneath it, then the sill. Each piece is tested in place with its liner still on, with painter's tape marking the ends; shut the door gently to confirm it clears. To bond, lift a short length of liner, seat that end and press along the rest.
Aftercare
Give the tape a full day before washing. Use mild soap and a soft cloth afterwards. A piece that won't sit the way the photos show should stay unbonded until you've called 877-752-3811.
