Check the key opening
Whichever cover carries the key opening, confirm a key still slides into the cylinder before the tape sets overnight. Repositioning is easy at this point and much harder the next day. Then open each door by its handle once to be sure nothing catches.
When to do it
Pick a mild, dry day out of direct sun. Avoid washing the truck or driving through heavy rain until the bond has had a night to cure.
Looking after chrome
Mild soap, water and a soft towel are all the plating needs. Abrasive pads and gritty polishes will leave scratches.
