Please read
For the 1991-1996 Park Avenue, GC31580 is not a replacement cap or replacement part, and the Buick's own gas door must be in place for it to go on.
Fitment
Buick Park Avenue, 1991-1996, 4-door sedan. Six model years on one row. See the Fitment tab.
Pillar trim to match
Three pillar post sets are cross-listed for the same Park Avenue:
- PP31580: four pieces.
- PP31581: six pieces.
- PP31582: eight pieces.
QAA doesn't say which window posts the additional pieces in the larger sets cover. The photos on each listing show the coverage, or you can call and ask.
How it attaches
It installs directly over the existing surface. No drilling, so the body stays as it is. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle.
Inspect the paint
On a sedan from the early-to-mid nineties, the fuel door's paint has seen a lot of years. Look at it closely. Fading, chalky oxidation, peeling clear coat or rust bubbles under the paint all need attention before you install, because the tape bonds to that surface. The door should also latch and sit flush.
Clean thoroughly
Wash with soap and water and rinse. Then wipe with degreaser, more than once if necessary, to remove built-up wax and polish. Let it dry completely.
Position
Door closed, liner on: set the trim in place and move it until the band of paint around it is even. A second person holding it while you step back makes this easier. Mark one corner on the body with painter's tape.
Press
Peel the liner, line up with your mark, and press firmly over the entire surface, center to edges. Press again after a minute. Open the door gently to make sure it clears. The Installation tab has complete steps.
Material
Polished 304 stainless has a bright, mirror-like finish, and 26 gauge sheet barely changes the door's thickness.
Conditions and care
A mild, dry day, ideally in a garage, and a dry night afterward. Clean with gentle soap and a soft cloth; wipe off fuel drips.
Why start with the gas door
It's one flat part with no second piece to match, and it takes only minutes. That makes it a low-risk way to see polished stainless against your Park Avenue's paint. If you like how it looks, the pillar sets are the natural next step.
Centering tip
On a part this size, a slight tilt is easy to see. Look from straight on and from a few steps toward the rear before peeling, and adjust in small moves.

Installation tips: Gas Door Cover Trim
- Confirm your vehicle still has its original gas door. This trim mounts over it and does not replace it.
- Unpack the piece and hold it in position to confirm the fit before mounting it.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Step back and check alignment before pressing along the full length of the piece.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
